For the first time in a number of years, Clive is releasing a selection of his oil on canvas works for sale.
The Corridor
Clive’s oil paintings stand as an important and vibrant body of work.
They have inspired the narrative of the Abarat and describe the unique geography and populace of its islands. Characters and settings in the works on canvas continue to describe the ongoing and upcoming journeys of the characters within the books of Abarat. Others show themes developing from Clive’s earlier works on paper into large scale and vivid images.
His canvases have been widely exhibited in group and solo shows, as well as being published in the recent Imaginer series of books and the earlier Visions of Heaven and Hell.
The Demon
Measuring, in the main, either three feet by four feet or four feet by five feet, these large-format paintings are gloriously striking when seen up close and in person.
Six of the sixteen newly released pieces have not previously been seen beyond Clive’s studio walls and are presented here for the first time.
The Glyph Above Mount Galigali
Alongside the canvases, a further selection of studio sketches has also been released for sale. These sketches offer a direct insight into Clive's development of characters for Abarat and other past and ongoing projects.
All pieces are signed by Clive and come with a certificate of provenance from The Clive Barker Archive.
